I personally have not made up my mind about reincarnation as of yet, but I thought I would post this and also see how others feel about this subject Reincarnation Reincarnation researcher Ian Stevenson investigated children who had verifiable memories of past lives. Stevenson interviewed everyone involved, the children, the current families, and surviving members of the families from the previous life. He found that these children could converse in a foreign language they spoke in a past life. They remembered geography, faces, and names of people in locations they had never been to. They had birthmarks on their body where they had sustained injuries in the previous life. www.ial.goldthread.com/kidspage/stevenson.html
Also see the following URL for a list of publications by Ian Stevenson www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/internet/personalitystudies/publications.cfm#Reincar-articles
The evidence for reincarnation cannot be explained by inadvertent mediumship or other forms of psychic perception.
Birthmarks are often located on the body at the same place injuries occurred in a previous life. Past life regression has been shown to have immense therapeutic value. During hypnotic regression, subjects recognize people they knew in past lives as incarnating again as people they recognize in their current life.

I am not sure about the whole reincarnation theory. Because if there is such thing as reincarnation then there would not be any ghost because they would be reincarnated, right? Or is the ghost just waiting to be reincarnated? See there are so many questions.

I'm not too sure either. I like to read about it, it is an interesting subject but I don't really know what to believe about it. In alot of ways it does make sense to me, but in alot of ways it doesn't.. so I just don't know. I don't not believe in it I guess. I mean I don't think its impossible. But like Shelly said.. what about the ghost?

I have asked myself the same question, Tony and I have talked about this subject many times, I won't speak for him, he has to do that himself but I have read where some people believe that Reincarnation only happens by choice, that you are not required to return unless you just want to....others I have talked to about this think that you come back in order to learn life lessons that you didnt get the last time you lived LOL...If thats the case I will be back over and over LMAO....I love this subject because there are so many theories about it and no real answers!

I like to think of it as recycling instead. Reincarnation is more of your spirit being put into something else not guaranteeing another person. I dont' think anything can be infinite especially when it comes to energy. I see recycling happening easily b/c of the inability to store massive amounts of energy in one place. So I can see God "rotating" out souls at different times so we can serve different roles..whatever they are going to be.

I have also heard that you can be reincarnated back as an animal, but then you have those who say that animals dont have souls. I personally believe that animals have souls and emotions. I have too many dogs not to believe that they have a soul. They each have their own personality and I can look into their eyes just like I would my own children and tell if they are happy, sad or hurt.. How can you have a personality without also having a soul or a spirit.

I agree, Angie. I have always heard that too and it has always bothered me. I think animals have souls. They have to. They are capable of thinking, feeling, loving, hurting, caring, ect. They have emotions and personalities just like people. How can they experience all of that and not have a soul?

Most definitely. My family has gone through too many critters. All of them have different personalities. One cat that grew up with me...holy crap, what an attitude.

Animals definitely have soul, and I believe they will be in heaven. Every P.I. should have books by Peter Kreeft in their library (in my opinion!) - he is a really good and practical Catholic theologian that is excellent on the subject on the afterlife - heaven - hell etc. His book Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Heaven, But Never Dreamed of Asking (yes, that's the actual title!). Two other excellent books by him are: Angels and Demons: What Do We Really Know About Them? and Between Heaven and Hell: A Dialogue Somewhere Beyond Death with John F. Kennedy, CS Lewis and Aldous Huxley. All excellent and very helpful! Add him to your reading list for sure! I do not believe in reincarnation, because the Bible is very clear on the subject. I think Hebrews 9:27 makes the point clearly enough, and it is a slap in the face of the concept of God's grace and Christ's death on the cross. (Reincarnation says we have to do it ourselves through working off sin through going through who knows how many lives until WE "get it right" rather than Christ dieing for our sin and him paying the price.) Sometimes the Bible isnt so clear on paranormal topics, but on this is one (reincarnation) I think it is very clear on. Once you stray form the scriptures, you can believe in anything - so that's why I tend to use the objectvity of the Bible. See a somewhat related post on the subject at : napsdemonology.blogspot.com/2011/01/hebrews-927-is-not-verse-that-refutes.htmlIt does raise questions about peoples' experiences with "memories" that must be explained, but I think they can be explained by simply saying they are picking up psychic energy and psychic experiences (everybody has some degree of it) and they are assuming that it is their own - not those of other human beings. That's my two cents worth, anyway.

Forgot to say in the post above that Kreeft, in his book Everything you ever wanted... has a great section about animals being in heaven - which he explains that they will be.

I was raised in a Southern Baptist church that always said animals don't have a soul but I always thought that was bullshit because my animals have very distinctive personalities. One is an angel and the other is a demon. LOL!
