There has been much written and debated about the validity and accuracy of these meters. I personally view them as another tool to be used mainly for purposes of validating/supporting communication from/between the investigator and the "spirit".
As long as the unit has not been tampered with or altered to produce artificial readings I believe they are fine and I will continue to use them.

I personally like the KII because it is easy to see in the dark.

I have been looking at K-II meters on a number of online Ghost Hunter supply stores. I have seen them priced from $10.00 all the way up to $180.00. Looking for K-II meter and online shop recommendations. THANKS!

I believe the one we have is the first one. Just a basic KII with an on off switch. Second one sounds pretty cool though, I like that we have the digital reading and temp all in one on our Mel Meter, would be cool to have on on the KII

K-2 meters are good. The one thing you need to keep in mind other than devices that can trip it is the interference works on line of sight basically. If the K-2 is in between 2 sources of frequency transmitters....i.e. cell phones...the device will trip.

The only problem with those temp guns is it shoots out an IR beam that only takes the temp of what the beam lands on. It doesn't give you a ambient temp reading which is the air around you. Some temp guns are now coming with a external ambient temp hook up that you can just plug into it.

while I agree with Shelly that the IR Temp guns only read at what the beam is pointing to verses an ambient temp, I still think that it is good to use both, an ambient temp is going to give you a basic room temperature but if there is a hot spot or a cold spot that you are trying to focus on , I think the IR Temp gun can still be useful if not better for that task than the ambient, I say its good to use both. just my 2 cents hehe!

But if the cold spot is in the middle of the room the beam is going to read the temp that that it lands on...whether that be a lamp, wall or whatever. The newer models like what Brad has has the hook up that sticks out like the one on the mel meter that reads ambient temp and you can turn the beam off.
