This really odd thing happened today which made me wonder about how this happened. I have a heavy cedar chest in my living room I use as a coffee table, inside it I have some of my Christmas decorations. Today a Sheriff friend of mine was standin next to it having a conversation with me. No one was touching the chest. His radio went off and when he keyed it to answer, A Santa Clause decoration inside the box which plays music when you push the button in his foot went off. It was the first time ever this has happened. Realizing it is possible that when the Deputy keyed in his radio, it triggered the music player to start, my question is how? Some of you radio wave braniacs help me out with an explaination. LOL

This might not be a question of radio waves, but battery life. When the batteries get low in some of my children's toys, they tend to activate on their own. By activate, I mean behave as if someone is manipulating the buttons. I thought we had a possessed karaoke Elmo toy and was sorely disappointed after discovering this. However, if the ornament in question has not produced the phenomena since, and still functions normally, it might have to do with the radio frequencies used. Sorry to bump an old topic.

I've had my grandson's toys start making noise on their own also and found that it was due to low batteries. The toys will still work for awhile till the batteries run out of power. Hope this helps!

thank you for the comments, I am good with that possibility. I think the timing of it creeped me out more than the fact that it happened did LOL. Still think it is odd that it hasnt happened since and the deputy was wearing his radio at the time so maybe it was more radio interferrence than battery related. either way makes sense
