The Old Brandon Cemetery is only a few miles from my house here in Pearl and almost around the corner form where I worked before I retired. (Rankin County Sheriff's Office 911 Dispatch). I am planning on buying a recorder this weekend and doing some day time EVP work in the cemetery next week. I am not aware of any known activity in the cemetery but you never know! ;D
I hope the links help? I'm a history buff at heart. Got hooked during my high school days during the 100th anniversary of The War Between the States.

Thats cool, I have done hundreds of hours of audio in local cemeteries around my neck of the woods here in Marshall Co and I have been surprised by some of the audio I have recorded in places that had no haunting stories, some of the cemeteries that I have heard stories about I didnt get anything, and some of the places that had no stories, had the most audio, so I guess you never know til ya go there, Richard I think that cemeteries are wonderful places to record and practice your listening skills for EVP, because over time of doing it, you will learn to recognized normal external noises and be able to tell just from the sounds what made the noise. so I think cemeteries are a good place to start.

I'm reading Fiona Broome's book, GHOST HUNTING IN HAUNTED CEMETERIES, A How-To Guide. Some really interesting material and neat background information about gravestone art.

Evaluating Haunted Cemeteries Free Worksheet You can download Fiona's own worksheet for evaluating haunted cemeteries. It's free, and you can copy it (without changes) for your own use or for your team. This worksheet is explained in Fiona's book, Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries, but most experienced ghost hunters will be able to use the worksheet right away. (The worksheet includes a sheet of basic instructions.) To download the worksheet as a PDF, click on this link: Worksheet: Evaluating Haunted Cemeteries, by Fiona Broome www.hauntedcemeteriesbook.com/freebies.htmYou can open this worksheet and print it with any free PDF reader, including Adobe Acrobat Reader. (You probably have a PDF reader on your computer, already.) I HOPE YOU FIND THIS HELPFULL!

Old Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Mississippi
"Location - From I-20 east bound you'll get off at the 2nd Brandon exit, the 1st will be Crossgates Blvd., bear R off the ramp [watch oncoming traffic cause it can be rough] Go to the 1st R/L, turn L., the cemetery will be on top of the hill, you will have to hunt the entrance gate. The City Clerk's office might be able to tell you where the gate's located. For directions to a grave, call the City Clerk's office. 601-825-5021...when the recording comes on, just follow the prompts
There are many unmarked graves in this cemetery including two areas, one for Confederate Soldiers and one for Union Soldiers."
Charlotte and I visited this cemetery this morning and did some EMF and cold spot searching with our new Mel meter.
We did not locate any cold spots on this visit and no EMF readings about 0.3mg. We did take a few photos (Posted at ADrive) and enjoyed the equipment training outing.
