Hello everyone. I am new to this site and most things paranormal. I am wanting to get involved in this field, but unfortunately I have no idea how. My work schedule keeps me tied up during the week, but I am free most weekends. I see that msspi is looking for members, but I am not sure how much free time is required. Also I seem to be geographically in between both of your groups here in Jackson. Any help or advice will be very appreciated.

Hi Jonathan welcome to the boards. You are free to download the application off our forums here and either Angie or myself will be glad to get back with you. Also on our main website is a list of our bylaws you can look over. Are you in Jackson?

First of all reading is essential in this field. There are numerous books by different authors who write on a plethora of paranormal related topic. A good one to start out with is The Ghost Hunters Guidebook by Troy Taylor. This is required reading for all of our members and a good starter book. As for how much free time is required, it really depends on how much you wnat to put into it. You get out of it what you put into it. As stated in our bylaws He/She must agree to attend no less than 50% of all announced organization meetings, training sessions and other mandatory special events unless the founder grants a waiver. This provision applies to all members, new or current. You are welcome to put in an application or ask any questions you want and we will answer them for ya.

I have put in an application, and started reading The Ghost hunters Guidebook; According to my Kindle, I am 34% into it. My concerns with time are primarily during the week. My work schedule (3pm till 11pm)puts a strain on my ability to pursue activities with a group. However, my weekends are open.

We got your application and will review it this week. We very rarely have anything scheduled for weekdays due to all of us working during the week and having children as well. There has been an occasion where we have had to do a event during the week, but as I said before that is very rare. We schedule our training sessions, events, and investigations for the weekends.
